V99L (40T)

The V99L vertical machining center has been specifically designed to minimize thermal distortion for part precision and enhance higher quality finishes on die/mold output.

The V99L provides environmentally controlled machine accuracy enhancements, such as Makino’s patented core-cooled, under-race lubrication system that minimizes spindle distortion and twin shield-style splash guards to reduce the effect of temperature change in the factory.

The V99L (40 Taper) machine is best suited for machining large and medium-sized die / mold and precision parts which require the micron level accuracy and outstanding surface finishes.  The V99L (40 Taper) can rough and finish hardened steel cavities/ cores far more efficiently – and at much lower costs – than a general –purpose machine.

The machine is be equipped with a CAT40-taper, 20,000 rpm spindle, can be configured with an optional HSK-A63 interface – or an optional HSK-F63, 30,000 rpm spindle.

The standard 30 tool magazine can be optionally expanded to either a 40 tool or 80 tool configuration.

In addition, the V99L (40 Taper) is outfitted with the Makino Professional 6 control to provide a stable, secure platform with reliable performance on the NC side, while providing an operator-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). This latest-generation machine tool control offers large color touch-sensitive, on-screen, menu-driven applications. Icons provide “hot links” and quick access to critical information that may be required by the operator. In addition, the new control platform provides all of the functions typical of a PC (cut, paste, copy, find, replace, etc.) that are rarely available on a machine tool control.

Advanced data management technology and Makino’s proprietary, next-generation Super Geometric Intelligence (SGI.5) servo control deliver the lowest cycle times achievable by reducing machining cycle times on dies, complex cavities and cores by as much as 40 percent when compared to most other control technologies.
